Fantabulous Friday...

I'm very thankful that the week is over and the weekend has officially begun. The hubs is out of town for a conference so me and FB have the run of the house. And the remote! :O) Last night was our first night alone...most of which I spent at the front entrance of our sub-division laying mulch. Such back breaking task but it does make it all "pop". It looks so good...amazing even!

On the agenda for tonight...I have no idea! The list had included putting up sun blocker film stuff on the windows..you know...the stuff that keeps the heat of the sun out but lets light in. Laundry had crossed my mind; as did cleaning the kitchen. I'll probably get my 3rd wind around 11 pm and work on through the night!! Which brings me to my fantabulous Friday post!

I am a huge fan of staying up late. It's a fabulous time to clean, catch up on reading or just plain do whatever you want BY YOURSELF. It's a great time for alone time. I know it sounds silly but like everyone else, I need my alone time and sometimes after 10 is the only time I can get it. It's kind of odd; My husband is an early bird and I'm a late owl. Go figure!!

Another thing I am a fan of is driving with the windows down and the radio up while attempting to sing the song on the radio. I think it's fantastic and up lifting to sing at the top of my lungs!! I can't carry a tune to save my life but doing all that makes me feel fabulous!

I know I said last week that I would only post two Fantabulous things but I just gotta say...I'm a huge fan of the 80's. It was so much fun. So much more fun then I ever gave it credit for. Granted some of the clothing choices weren't the best nor the hair styles but it was a really fun time!!

ok, onto a more serious topic. There are 99 days left until my next 1/2 marathon. Right now I'm ready to participate but only ready to do it in the same amount of time it took to do my first 1/2 marathon. I'd like to shave 30 mins off my previous time...but I need motivation. Remind me what motivates you...

  2. I used to be a huge stay-up-later, but just can't do it anymore. Sure wish I could.....

It is so marvelous of you to do that gardening improvement to your subdivision. That is a lot of work that many people will enjoy. I hope your neighbors at least know that you did the work!

Money motivates me! But, I don't know how to work that into your program. What about joining the freedom challenge at Debwillbefree? Small goals starting on July 5, I think.

  3. Ha, I think I have found a kindred spirit. I too am a nightowl, but can't be as productive late at night now that I'm married. I love having me time, driving with the windows down and the music up, and I love the 80's! I think the "me" time stems from the fact that I was an old child that grew up in the middle of nowhere and so I know how to keep myself occupied and find it therapeudic in a way. Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

  4. Genie--it is a LOT of work but it is great exercise (and a good way to get my vitamin D). I'll have to check on the Debwillbefree. I did sign up to do Sam's (believe in yourself) goal setting for July 21st. I need to be up to 17 miles a week with 2 of the miles all jog. and it's safe to say I'm not quite there yet. BUT I did come up with a long term reward for either finishing my 2nd 1/2 marathon in 3 hrs or less or losing 40 pounds by the Oct 3rd 1/2. the long term reward is a new tattoo. I'll post a picture of what I want to get later. I REALLY want this tattoo but since money doesn't grow on trees if I make it a reward I can save towards it while achieving my goals. Now to just narrow down what the actual goal is.

Julie-put your hands in the air for kindred spirits!! woot woot. Being product around here after 10 is pretty nil. If it involves typing or laundry (which is on the other end of the house from the main bedroom) it's cool...but cleaning and vaccuming is a huge no no now that I'm married. Mr Early to bed early to rise freaks out! LOL.

And to think I come up with the best ideas late at night!!

  5. And everyone will pleased to know that I DID have a wonderful weekend and I hope that you did too. I got a fair amount of things done (especially after 9pm hee hee) and was able to have a lil fun too. The one said thing is that I didn't get started on my 1/2 marathon training. I use the Hal Higdon schedule (12 week plan)as a guide...I'm supposed to aim for 3 to 3.5 3 days a week and 4 plus miles on the weekend, with each weekend adding a mile to mile and half to the previous weekend walk/jog.
